On Thursday I am driving back to Fort Leonard Wood, MO! I will be spending the rest of the time that Bryan has training with him.  We both feel like at this point we shouldn’t be apart unless we have to. I want to spend the time that we do have together!  I have really enjoyed my time in Greenville, SC over the past 3 months. This really is a beautiful place and I can’t wait to return!

I will miss Floppy she has been my best friend! She really makes staying here alone more enjoyable! She is adorable and sweet and I wake up almost every morning to her in my face!

I have to say that I have a problem with the fact that Bryan trained with females. There are 5 army basic locations and only 2 of which are female as well. I am all for woman doing what men do but honestly I don’t think that this is the situation. The standards are different for one plus they are tearing you apart. It’s intense. Honestly I just think that it’s not the situation to do it. Ok I know that Bryan is adorable and he has an outgoing personality. He can make friends easily. Why did he make so many female friends? I think at graduation I met more females than males. The also have a class picture signed by more females than males. Should I have a problem with this? I know that he only has eyes for me. I guess that gets into can people really just be friends with the opposite sex?

I got home today! Good to be home is this huge empty house! I had a great time with Bryan! His AIT is better than we could have ever hoped for! He is almost FREE! He gets a lot more privileges. We texted almost all day!  It was great! Oh and we got into our first argument.  I have had a lot of problems with my past and I am in therapy right now. It’s always been hard for me to dig into my past. It gets harder and worse before the serious healing starts. I am opening all of these wounds. I am thankful that we will be able to communicate through all of this. I really need someone strong to rely on.  There are things about my past that he doesn’t know about. Today he did something he didn’t realized hit a nerve. It was hard and we both had to be understanding. Communication! I know that this marriage is going to take a lot of work and dedication and we will both do it. It seems like we are actually married now! We can have a real relationship! Ok Well. I need to catch up more on my homework i will undate with pictures and details later! I am safe on the ground in SC!

I’m leaving in 10 hours to go to MO! I am so excited! I am all packed again and ready to go! I’m going to miss floppy and all my animals! I’m excited though after 11 weeks I will finally get to see my husband! I am so looking forward to just being in his arms. I feel so safe and protected in his arms. It’s perfect. I have an totally amazing husband. It’s going to be hard sitting through the ceremony and everything. I’ll probably be bitting my nails! I’m so excited. It’s so close now. I can’t believe how long that it’s been and that we made it. It seems so hard. All those lonely nights and not talking but every sunday for an hour! and the snail mail. Now it will be different!

Ok i need to finish a few things and go to sleep!

Bryan got to call me today for 2 hours and 15 minutes! I love my husband so much. He’s so sweet and amazing. I was so sick today I couldn’t keep anything down and I was out of it. When he called it was so great to hear his voice. He made me feel so much better. His week of field training went well that had hardly any sleep and since they got back they had been cleaning. They had their final inspection on Wednesday and Graduation at 1000 on Thursday! I am so excited. I get to see our friends from Louisiana, My brother David, and Bryan’s Dad and Step mom. I hope that everything goes great.

I wrote him last week and asked him if I have to be nice to all of his Drill sergeants. Honestly there are a few things I would like to say to some of them.  I have to be polite and represent my amazing husband. He is ready to be done and I am ready to have our communication back!  I now have everything in or on my bags! I am so excited! The next 2 days are going to be long. I have a counseling session tomorrow plus I start online classes tomorrow! I’m worried about the difficulty of  the classes. I told Bryan today about my grades. He said well, that’s good, you can focus better without me there. I don’t think it’s try. I just didn’t want to let myself down again or him.

I’m so excited! 3 more days!

Rites of Passage August 8, 2008

There are 5 more days until Graduation. Today they have the Rites of passage.

The Rite of Passage immediately follows the end of the 15k footmarch after the FTX.  It marks the completion of all mandatory training and the final transition from “trainee” to “soldier”.  It is a fitting end to a tough training and character-building event, and special emphasis should be made by the cadre that these soldiers are now ready to proudly join their ranks.  A momento is presented to each soldier by their drill sergeant (US Army brass for the Class A uniform), everyone recites the Soldiers Creed, and sings The Army Song.

This marks the end of the Basic training! They are all finally considered soldier. Of course they aren’t done yet. The next 5 days will consist of cleaning all of their equipment from the Field Training Exercise and cleaning their barrack. The have a final inspection and of course “recovery” and graduation rehearsal. To say the least they are done. I know that Bryan is just ready to be done. He’s strong and has had a lot of self control. I know that he has learned a lot and is ready to go onto AIT (Advanced Individual Training) which will begin on Friday at Fort Leonard Wood. This will be 7 more week and he will graduate on October 3rd! This training is different than Basic and he will have more privileges.  The communication will get better which we are both thankful for.

I’m so excited for Graduation! The next 4 days are really going to be slow!

I’m so excited! This time next week I will be in Fort Leonard Wood, MO waiting! I’m probably not going to sleep that night! I’m so excited. It seems like it has been forever. I don’t like long distant relationships but it’s ok. Bryan has been so great and encouraging. Nothing is like basic.  It’s crazy but it’s something that they have to go through. Honestly I couldn’t do it. I haven’t gotten mail but it’s ok. I sent my last letter today!

Naomi and Jonathan are surviving. Naomi said that the conditions are pretty bad there. She said it reminds her of Guam but worst!

Well another day! Today seemed to go bu quickly. I have been working on recovering a chair so that’s a handful plus making  some pillows. It’s been good. I got to call My friend from LA Jennifer today. She got married 6 months ago and now is living close to Fort Benning where he husband is stationed! It was really great to talk to her. She had some encouraging words. She went through what I am before. I know that thing will get better. I know that God  is in control and we will get to spend time together soon. I’m glad that basic is coming to an end. I know Bryan is probably miserable, dirty, and sleep deprived today and most of this week. His last Field Training Exercise!

I;m so excite to see him. I’ll get to see my brother David as well! He needs to get away for a few days and we will have fun!

I’m so excited for Bryan’s graduation! I got to talk to him today! He is doing well. He is getting impatient he just wants it to done. This week past week they had their last fitness test. He did the best out of the males but a female did better percent wise because of the difference in standards. This coming week they have their last field training which is suppose to be really difficult and barely no sleep. They will do good. After this week they just have practice for graduation and getting everything clean. Then Graduation! I’m excited. They shaved everyone’s head again. Bryan is annoyed with it because they had said that they could grow it out. It’ll be ok.

Naomi and Jason left here ok. I haven’t heard anything from them yet.
